BBQing & Staying Healthy On Memorial Day
With Memorial Day coming up, some of us might feel overwhelmed about how to navigate staying healthy, yet still enjoying the holiday. But guess what?! It is completely possible to do both!
Here are a few tips on how to stay healthy during Memorial Day (& any holiday!):

Stay active! Start your day with a workout and knock it out of the way. Not only will you feel energized and ready for the day, but you will also feel better indulging in moderation later on.

Moderation and mindfulness are key — for both food and alcohol. Enjoy yourself, but there is no need to eat and drink until you’re extremely full!

Stick to light beer, White Claws or pure liquor (tequila, vodka) with sugar-free mixers.

Start with a salad and between choose a burger or a hot dog (not both). If you’re trying to cut back on calories, use a lettuce wrap instead of a bun.

BBQ veggies (onions, peppers, eggplant, zucchini…) - the added fiber will help you feel satisfied in a more nutritious way!

STAY HYDRATED.

Limit the sugar! Choose fruits or healthy dessert alternatives, like these watermelon popsicles or these healthy brownies, instead.
